Overview
Womp Technologies LLC ("Womp," "we," "us," or "our") operates Womp, a campus nightlife app that helps verified students see live party activity, share posts, and discover approximate party areas. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide, including username, personal email address, password credentials handled by Firebase Authentication, date of birth or age eligibility information, school email used for student verification, campus affiliation, profile photo, bio, class year, privacy settings, posts, captions, photos, videos, comments, reports, blocks, friend and close-friend relationships, and support messages.
We collect activity and technical information, including app interactions, party/post views and actions, likes, comments, reports, presence signals, upload state, diagnostics, app version, device/platform information, authentication state, and logs needed to keep the service reliable and safe.
We collect location information when needed for party reporting, party discovery, campus matching, duplicate reduction, safety, and abuse prevention. Womp does not show your precise personal location publicly. Public party surfaces use approximate, aggregated, or derived location labels and areas.
We collect school email information to verify student status and campus affiliation. School email is used for student verification, eligibility, campus safety, abuse prevention, duplicate-account prevention, support, and audit purposes. It is not your primary login email unless you separately choose to use it as your personal account email.
How We Use Information
We use information to create and maintain accounts, verify students and campuses, provide feeds and party discovery, process posts and media, support comments and social features, enforce privacy settings, prevent spam and abuse, respond to reports, send account and verification emails, provide support, debug reliability issues, comply with law, and protect Womp and its users.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand usage, improve reliability, identify trends, and develop features.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.
We may share information with service providers that help operate Womp, including Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication, storage, databases, hosting, and functions; Expo/EAS for app builds and updates; Resend for transactional email; Apple and Google for app-store distribution and platform services; and mapping/location providers when location features require them. These providers process information for Womp's service purposes.
Womp may use campus or map lookup providers, including OpenStreetMap/Overpass-style data sources, to identify nearby campuses or map context for location features. If this behavior changes before launch, Womp will update this policy and app-store disclosures.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse or security incidents, to enforce our terms, to respond to legal requests, or as part of a business transfer.
Location
Precise location is sensitive. Womp uses precise location for private backend purposes such as party clustering, duplicate reduction, location-based posting rules, safety review, moderation, fraud prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, and service integrity. Womp does not publish a user's precise location publicly.
Approximate or derived locations, such as campus areas, rough party locations, geocells, and nearest-street labels without street numbers, may be used for party discovery and public app surfaces.
If Womp uses a third-party campus or map lookup provider, location may be sent to that provider to help identify nearby campuses or map context. This must be reflected in App Store and Google Play disclosures before launch.
Posts, Comments, And Media
Posts, comments, photos, videos, captions, ratings, and related metadata may remain available until deleted by you, removed by Womp, or removed through account deletion.
When you delete a post or comment, Womp may place it in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days so you can view or restore it. During that time it should not be visible to other normal users. After the recovery period ends, you can no longer view or restore it through the app. Womp may retain restricted copies or metadata when reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, audit, abuse prevention, service integrity, or backup purposes.
Account Deletion
You can request account deletion inside the app. To protect against accidental deletion, Womp sends a confirmation code to your personal email before deactivating the account.
After deletion is confirmed, Womp removes your public profile, search visibility, normal account access, and user-facing surfaces associated with your account. Your account is recoverable for 30 days by logging in and confirming a recovery code sent to your personal email. If you do not recover during that period, Womp may finalize deletion and the account may no longer be recoverable in the app.
Account deletion generally includes deletion, de-identification, or restriction of your profile, posts, comments, media, social relationships, blocks, presence records, verification records, settings, and active user-facing data. Womp may retain restricted records where needed for safety, security, fraud prevention, moderation, legal compliance, dispute resolution, eligibility enforcement, abuse prevention, audit, or terms enforcement. Backup deletion may lag active-system deletion.
Data Export
You may request a copy of your account data in the app. Womp will send an email to your personal account email with a link to an export file. Export links expire after 7 days. The export includes account and user-facing content data Womp can provide without exposing other users' private data, restricted safety/audit records, security secrets, or internal moderation notes.
Your Choices
You can update profile and privacy settings in the app. You can delete posts/comments, restore eligible Recently Deleted items, request account deletion, recover during the 30-day recovery window, and request a data export. You can contact support for account help, privacy questions, or data requests.
Age Eligibility
Womp is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. Do not create an account if you are under 18.
Security
We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and users should protect their account credentials.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are material, we will provide notice through the app, website, or email where appropriate.
